PRESS REVIEW

We've just read an article at "austriantimes.at" and it talks about that Red Bull sales soar after German cocaine ban.

Basically what it says is that Red Bull sales soar because in the drink was found cocain. It also says that pub owners and nightclub managers in Austria made more turnover because Red Bull was banned from German shelves.
What interested me most was the fact that you can't become addicted to the drink.
As for me, I believe that the cocain could be dangerous for people who drink a lot of Red Bull.

PRESS REVIEW

I’ve just read an article at „www.austriantimes.at“. It talks about that more Austrians are worried about burglaries.

I thought it might be interesting because there are more and more burglaries in Austria.

Fear of burglary is rising among Austrians after a spate of break-ins.
"Market" chief David Pfarrhofer said one third of Austrians and half of Vienna residents knew people whose houses or apartments had been burgled.
He added the best protection against burglars was alarms and special security locks and doors, in addition to cancelling mail when people were going to be away from their homes for long periods.
Now I know that the capital Vienna alone sees around 40 burglaries a day. The article also says that there were around 3,600 break-ins into flats and houses in the first three months of the year in the city.

After all I can say it was interesting to read this article. It gives you a lot of information about burglaries. Today there are more criminals on the streets.

PRESS REVIEW FRAMEWORK

I've just read the latest article in Katharina Astleithner's blog. It talks about St. Patrick's Day. You can find the article at "myblogastleithner.blogspot.com".

I found it very interesting because we talked about St. Patrick's Day at school.
What surprised me most was the fact that she gave me a lot of information of the day.
Now I know that people celebrate St. Patrick's Day on 17th March. There are a lot of parades in most of towns.

A famous custom is going green. People are wearing green clothes, eating green food and drinking green.

The day is celebrated in the USA, Australia, Canada, Great Britain and some other towns.

After all I can say her blog gave me a lot of information it has a nice layout and there are good pictures.

St. Patrick's Day

On march 17, Saint Patrick, he’s one of the patron sants in Ireland, is celebrated.
The St. Patrick's Day custom came to America in 1737.
That was the first year St. Patrick's Day was celebrated in Boston.
Here are some informations of a famous custom:
Going Green
It literally means the color green wearing it, drinking it, and eating it. The greener the better, even including dyeing the rivers green! For over 40 years, the city of Chicago has dyed the Chicago River green. The city uses a vegetable dye that starts off orange but with some Leprechaun magic, it turns green in time for St. Partick's Day.

Today, people celebrate the day with parades, wearing of the green, and drinking beer. One reason St. Patrick's Day might have become so popular is that it takes place just a few days before the first day of spring. One might say it has become the first green of spring.

Today I am going to tell you something about DRESS CODES!!

Students, especially those who study at schools would always like to be free of rules and regulations. They want to follow with the fashion trends. Just because of fact that they try to avoid dress codes.

Dress codes are a big question among students' parents and school administration. There are some people who are against school uniforms but most of them respond in very positive manner.

I think every company should have a dress code of their own. A good dress code tells people what they should and should not wear. Your workplace is not a place to express yourself by your appearance. It’s not the place for wild clothes, tattoos, or piercings. It’s the place to work hard and look professional.

Some facts for dress codes:

· schools with dress codes have fewer problems with discipline
· dress codes can be less expensive than normal clothes
· with dress codes there aren’t differences between poor and rich children

Facts against dress codes:

· you can’t show your own personality to other people
· dress codes make all people look like same

My own opinion:

I can't imagine wearing school uniforms every day at school because then all students look the same. At school I like to wear what I want. But when you are at work you have to wear the right clothes. This makes a good impression at your job.

Double Fudge by
Judy Blume

I'm preparing a book report about the book "Double fudge" by Judy Blume. I chose this book because the little summary of the story which was on the back of the book sounded very interesting.

In this posting I would like to give you a little preview what the book is about. I hope you will get interested and read it. I think it is dead good. Well, I tell you something about the story:

Fudge is always making trouble. But in this book he is obssessed with money, money and money. He draws money, thinks money and wants to become Mr Money. Meanwhile, Peter's friend, Jimmy Fargo is moving further away and can no longer meet Peter when going to school. To add to the trouble, Peter and Fudge meet their long-lost cousins: Fauna, Flora and their younger brother surprisingly named Farley Drexel Hatcher - just like Fudge! And "Mini Farley" is also causing trouble as much as Fudge has as well! This is a book that everyone can enjoy.

Now something about the author:

Judy Blume was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She is a very popular American author and has written a lot of books for young adults. Her twenty-four books have won more than ninety awards. Judy and her husband George Cooper live on islands up and down the east coast. They have three grown children and one grandchild.
